The ROMP Adventure Project (2026)
25 Human-Powered Adventures Across Ecuador, Southeast Asia & the USAIn 2025, I set out to complete a simple but ambitious goal: summit one peak every week.
Over the course of the year, that goal evolved into something far more meaningful. Through the Climbing for ROMP team, we raised nearly $145,000 to support patients in Ecuador and Guatemala in receiving life-changing prosthetic care through Range of Motion Project (ROMP).
While the summits were memorable, the most impactful moment of the year came before our final climb of Cotopaxi — visiting ROMP’s clinic in Quito. Seeing new patients begin their journey, prosthetics ready for fitting, and the immediate impact of care made it clear that the true objective extended far beyond the mountains.
At the same time, the experience also reshaped how I think about adventure.
The moments I valued most were not always tied to summits, but to:
Long days moving through the mountains
Exploring routes where the path wasn’t obvious
Sharing time outdoors with friends and family
Working toward a shared purpose with a team
With that in mind, I wanted to approach 2026 differently.
The Approach FOR 2026
This year, I’m launching The ROMP Adventure Project: a collection of 25 human-powered adventures across Ecuador, Southeast Asia & the USA.
These adventures span four core themes:
Exploration - seeking out new routes and lesser-traveled places
Endurance - pushing distance, time, and physical limits
Multisport - combining disciplines like cycling, climbing, and running
Community - creating space for others, especially friends and family, to participate
Some of these challenges are already defined, while others are intentionally left open — allowing for spontaneity and the unexpected opportunities that make time in the mountains so rewarding.
The goal is simple: complete as many of these 25 adventures as possible over the course of the year.
SUPPORTING ROMP
The Range of Motion Project (ROMP)is a nonprofit organization working to end immobility for people with limb loss who lack access to prosthetic care. Today, millions of people worldwide are left immobile by an amputation simply because they do not have access to prosthetic care, and ROMP is committed to changing that reality.
ROMP operates the largest prosthetic rehabilitation programs in Guatemala and Ecuador, delivering whole‑person, community‑based care and reaching remote regions through mobile clinics. Their model is powered by a circular supply chain in which 95% of prosthetic components are recycled from clinics across the United States.
I am setting a target to raise $10,000 this year for ROMP. For each adventure completed, I will personally donate $500 toward this goal.
I invite anyone who would like to support to contribute on a per-adventure basis or donate directly to the campaign. Together we can make a big dent in ROMP’s patient waitlist of over 1,000 people (and growing).
JOIN THE JOURNEY
I’ll be sharing updates throughout the year as each adventure unfolds.
If you’re in Ecuador and interested in joining for part of the project - whether for a single day or a larger objective - you’re always welcome.
More exploration.
More movement.
More time in nature with great people.
Let’s see what 2026 brings.
