ROMP ADventure Project 2026 | The list
Some of these adventures are already defined, while others are intentionally left open — allowing for spontaneity and the unexpected opportunities that make time in the mountains so rewarding. Below are a few examples for each category.
Exploration
Seeking out new routes and lesser-traveled places
The Yanacocha Project
Complete the Yanacocha horseshoe via Ingapirca, Ladrillos, Rucu Pichincha & Wayra Urqu peaks. Approximately 8k feet elevation gain over 12-15 miles.
LA Vuelta de Cotopaxi
Unsupported human-powered loop around Cotopaxi via the various lahar channels and valleys. Approximately 3-4 days.
Purple Line Run Project
Running 20+ miles from the Northside to Downtown Chicago, and exploring the neighborhoods between the stops in my hometown.
Endurance
Pushing distance, time, and physical limits
Corazon <> Iliniza Linkage
Long trail run from Machachi to Las Ilinizas via Corazón ridge / summit. Approximately 15-18 miles with 11,000 feet elevation gain.
Gunung Gede <> Pangrango Ultra Route
Classic linkage of two epic volcanoes in West Java and following the annual ultra route. Approximately 40km with 12,000 feet elevation gain.
Trans-Singapore Run
Always thought it would be neat to run across an entire country - this is probably the easiest option. Approximately 22.5 miles North to South - will aim for middle of the night to beat the heat.
Multisport
Combining disciplines like cycling, climbing, and running
Bike to Summit
Mountain bike from Santa Rita to refugio and summit Cotopaxi.
Traverse & Climbfest
Ilaló traverse to enduro climb (e.g. climb your age).
Community
Creating space for others, especially friends and family, to enjoy nature together
Climbing for ROMP - Cotopaxi Attempt
Nothing encapsulates community more than the 2026 Climbing for ROMP team attempt on Cotopaxi this October. Honored to be joining the team again and cannot wait.
Family backpacking Adventure
Multiday backpacking trip with the family in the backcountry.
Organize The Ninety-Pound Rucksack Challenge in quito
An annual ski mountaineering event that honors the legacy of the 10th Mountain Division, their historic World War II ascent of Italy’s Riva Ridge and their post-war contributions to American skiing.
