31 / Gunung Gede (9,718’)

8/30/25: So happy to be back in my old stomping grounds of Indonesia, where my love affair with gunung bagging started. Taman Nasional Gunung Gede Pangrango lies just two hours outside of Jakarta, and features two peaks. Gede is the shorter of the two and quite active.

A lovely long trail with a steady 5,500’ ascent, featuring a thermal river and waterfall (70 degrees C!). Celebrated #31 with my favorite Indonesian dessert: Martabak.
